Interactive session to commemorate international youth day

MENTORSHIP & INTERACTIVE SESSION TO COMMEMORATE INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY ORGANISED BY PS MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPECIAL ADVISER TO EKITI STATE GOVERNOR ON YOUTH DEVELOPMENT.

"The youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are the changemakers of today."

In celebration of International Youth Day 2025, the PS Ministry of Youth and Special Adviser to Ekiti State Governor on Youth Development invited all the Youth Organisations in the State including Nigeria Youth Organisation, Ekiti State Chapter, hosted a highly impactful Mentorship and Interactive Session aimed at empowering, inspiring, and equipping young minds for purposeful living and nation-building.

As the Women Leader of the Organisation in Ekiti State, I had the honour of participating in this transformative engagement which brought together dynamic speakers, seasoned professionals, and enthusiastic young leaders from across the 16 Local Government Areas of our state.

A major focus of the discussion was on encouraging the youth to explore agriculture as a viable path to economic independence and sustainable development. Mentors shared success stories of young farmers who have turned passion into profit, highlighting opportunities in modern farming, agri-tech, processing, and value chain businesses.

Speakers also emphasised the importance of self-belief, resilience, and a strong work ethic as the foundation for success in any chosen career path. Young people were challenged to dream big, work hard, and refuse to be limited by societal stereotypes or challenges.

Highlights of the event included:

Motivational talks on self-discovery, resilience, and leadership ethics.

Panel discussions on youth participation in agriculture and entrepreneurship.

Interactive Q&A sessions where participants received direct guidance from mentors.

Networking opportunities to foster collaboration among young people across diverse sectors.

This celebration went beyond speeches it planted seeds of hope, broadened visions, and reminded every participant that the future belongs to those who believe in their dreams and work diligently to achieve them.

On behalf of the Nigeria Youth Organisation, Ekiti State Chapter, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to all facilitators, partners, and participants who made this event a success. As we commemorate International Youth Day, let us all commit to nurturing the potentials of our young people, for in their hands lies the future we all desire.
